Submission Guidelines

Overview

AltSalt is a resource for promoting independent creative voices and building solidarity among underserved groups and allies. These groups include, but are not limited to...

• BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, cis women, persons with disabilities
• Zinesters, poets, electronic literature makers
• Game developers focusing on story over gameplay
• Visual literary writers, artists, letterers, and designers
• Anyone who resonates with AltSalt's mission and is looking to be a part of a cool community

Items we accept

All accepted works will have a sense of completeness. Works can require payment or be free; however, note that we don't have mechanisms for selling anything directly on AltSalt.

Our ever-evolving list of accepted items includes, but is not limited to...

• Zines
• Comics
• Story-driven video games
• Visual literature
• Poetry books
• Electronic literature
• Computational poetry
• Multimedia literature
• Blog posts (essays, prose)
• Artwork (soon — this is a work in progress)
• Excerpts from novels or other long-form publications


Examples

• Zines — artzines, perzines, poetry zines, all zines
• Comics, especially ones with BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, cis women, or folks with disabilities in lead writing or art positions
• Story-driven games, especially if there's reading involved
• Electronic literature, visual literature, poetry generators
• Honestly, anything by anyone will probably make it in as long as it doesn't violate our community guidelines
